Cheers to ALL words here, thank you. Just go people, where there's a will there's a way.

F the Snooty Travelers and their cousins, the Snooty Neighbors.

Someone’s got to be epically insecure to knock the way other people do things or the experiences they have. Surgeons recently amputated my right leg and I’ve actually had people I’ve never seen before tell me how their broken whatever was a worse experience. F them.

Clapping for all of this. I get so tired of people one-upping each other. I love to hear what people saw, learned, ate, and experienced while traveling. Even if it's a road trip to the next town over. Celebrate the fact that people want to experience anything outside of their normal routine because it will help heal some of the broken things in the world.

People are so annoying. It is understandable when someone else's travels provokes a memory or feeling of somewhere you have been or something you have done. Those are called beautiful memories. But, why do others care what the heck you do in your own life be it travel or going for a walk. I have been traveling since I was a teenager, both on my own and with whoever was around in my life. I still travel. It is my life, professionally and personally. Nowadays if you don't do "solo travel" you aren't cool, if you don't eat a monkey brain you aren't cool, if you don't have a hedgehog steal your boot ( I know that was different) than you aren't cool. I have traveled a lot and sometimes my favorite trip is to take the bus that stops in front of my apartment building and go for a hike in the mountain that I can see from my balcony. DO YOU PEOPLE!! AND, ENJOY! As my boss says, Happy Traveling!

You are such a delightful writer but I had to laugh at how older people (yes, like me), just like "the snooty traveler"--- always want to top each other with their medical problems and really, as with so many things in life---the ME, ME, ME takes over ---we all want to be HEARD. Your pictures are wonderful!!

I love to read my incoherent, unorganized, smattering of random thoughts on this topic so masterfully, carefully, accurately, and sensitively crafted together in a marvelous manner that elicits the intrinsic beauty of the inspiring and freeing nature of travel. This was a lovely and perfect read and something I can share without caveat. I hope this is an aid for the first-time aventurer to the supposed seasoned semi-pro. 🙏

Thank you, Maggie.

Love this! My most recent trip was enhanced many times over by people sharing their recommendations with me. Travel, like everything else, is harder now because there's so much garbage online that it's hard to know what to trust when everything is iconic or a scam.

yes to all of this! I do not have the time/funds to travel the way my wildest dreams would like me to...but I still find meaning in what we make happen!!
